Summary

This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to increase employer civil fines for: (1) hiring, or recruiting or referring for a fee, an undocumented immigrant that the employer knows is not authorized for employment; and (2) continuing to employ such undocumented immigrant.

Current Status: This bill was referred to the Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law on March 15, 2009.
