S. 931:  Arbitration Fairness Act of 2009

Summary

The Arbitration Fairness Act would make any pre-dispute, mandatory arbitration agreement unenforceable if it requires arbitration of employment, consumer, franchise, or civil rights disputes.  The bill includes an exemption for arbitration provisions contained in collective bargaining agreements.

Current Status: The bill has been referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
