Summary

The Family-Friendly Workplace Act, introduced in the House of Representatives on February 10, 2009 by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, would amend the Fair Labor Standards Act to allow most private-sector employees the option of receiving compensatory time instead of overtime pay for overtime hours worked. Under the bill, employees could accrue up to 160 hours of compensatory time. An employer would be required to pay employees for accrued, unused compensatory time at the end of each year.
