Countdown to Senate action

It still appears likely that the Senate will take action on the Employee Free Choice Act this week.  The Senate calendar for today reads:

Monday, June 18, 2007

2:00 p.m.: Convene and begin a period of morning business.

Thereafter, resume consideration of H.R. 6, the Energy bill.

We are told that the EFCA action will take place immediately after completion of the Energy bill.  Some are predicting that this will occur Wednesday or Thursday.

Senate Majority Leader Reid is likely to present the matter as a cloture motion, which will require 60 votes to pass.  The bill will likely not be further considered this year if the cloture motion fails.
