Democrats Kick Off Labor-Friendly Convention

The Democrats kick off their Convention in Denver today.  Employers should follow all explanations of the party's platform closely, as a Democratic administration and Congress will pursue an aggressive agenda designed to expand employee rights and entitlements, while creating numerous new legal obligations for employers.  We recommend using the Workforce Horizons Watch List, at top left of this page.

The National Association of Manufacturers notes, via National Review, the long list of labor interests with prime speaking engagements at the convention -- and the notable absence of anyone from the American business community: "At the Democratic Convention: Labor Speaks, but Business?"
